Winnipeg, MB Winnipeg-Union Station is the train station for the capital of the Manitoba Province. The VIA station is currently a minor user of the huge Union Station building, most of witch has been turned over to non-transit uses. To board VIA trains passengers enter the station through a main Grand Lobby and continue straight through it to an area that feels subterranean beneath the station tracks that are on a viaduct through the city. Here the ticket and baggage offices are a fairly small waiting area and the boarding gates that lead up to staircases to the station's eight tracks and four platforms. A portion of the platforms also house the Winnipeg Railway Museum. For such a grand station building it has extremely limited train service. The Canadian stops in the station (albeit for a service stop of a couple of hours) during it's Triweekly runs between Vancouver and Toronto. The Hudson Bay originates or terminates at the station on its bi-weekly round trips to and from Churchill (it actually provides the only land connection, there no continuous highways). Currently the station has absolutely no train service on Wednesdays.
